Fundraising

To get to this point we have received grants of £132,000  from Midlands Net Zero

We estimate that the cost of construction will be in the region of £500,000. We anticipate that our fundraising will come from three sources:

Grants

There are several grant programmes for which this project is eligible. We are members of Community Energy England who have lots of knowledge in this area and will provide grant giving support.

Community Share Offer

This is an important method of fundraising for local energy schemes.

• We will offer the chance for people to offset their carbon emissions and help promote renewable energy through buying shares with a minimum investment of £250 up to a maximum of £20,000.

• Once the scheme is established interest will be payable. However investing in Baslow Hydro should be seen as a social investment rather than a financial investment.

Loans

Loans from ethical banks such as Triodos and Charity Bank will be used to fill any funding gap.
